Someone lock these two up! Two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone and Oscar nominee Debra Winger are gearing up for an explosive Broadway battle courtesy of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet. The duo will go head-to-head in Mamet’s world premiere play The Anarchist beginning November 13 at the Golden Theatre. LuPone will play Cathy, a reformed radical who, after spending the last 35 years in prison, is now seeking parole. Winger, whose making her Broadway debut, will play Ann, the tough parole advisor who intends to keep Cathy behind bars. Though these women will likely be at each other’s throats onstage, they can’t help but clown around behind-the-scenes. Check out LuPone and Winger’s fun photo for New York Times Magazine, then catch these two stars light up the stage this fall.
